Mark Hower

I've been riding mountain bikes for over 25 years. It started when I was a kid racing downhill in Big Bear and hasn't stopped since. Along the way I've raced cross country, dual slalom, and 4x, sessioned freeride spots, rode BMX, and had a coaching session with Missy Giove at 12 years old that I still think about.
I'm not a former pro. I'm just someone who has spent most of their life on a bike, made a lot of mistakes, figured a lot of things out, and genuinely loves helping other riders progress.
These days I run the Mark Hower MTB YouTube channel where I focus on jump tutorials and bike skills for beginner to intermediate riders. I also wrote two ebooks on jumping and bike control that came from the same place — I wanted to put everything I know into something useful that actually helps people ride better.
If you're local to Southern California I also do in-person coaching sessions. If not, the videos and ebooks are a good place to start.
Freeride/Ride Free — it's tattooed on my knuckles and it's pretty much the whole philosophy.
